Baltimore House
A woodland retreat of clarity and proportion
The Baltimore House is a residence set within the lush landscape of Baltimore, Maryland. The design is characterized by a circular drive approach that centers the arrival experience, drawing visitors through a canopy of mature trees before revealing the home in its natural setting.
The architecture features horizontal rooflines, natural stone, warm wood cladding, and expansive glazing balanced with mature trees. The facade emphasizes symmetry and verticality at the entry with double-height glass panels and stone piers, creating a dialogue between the built form and the surrounding forest.
At the heart of the home, a double-height living space with floor-to-ceiling windows dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior. A central fireplace anchors the space, while the material palette -stone, timber, and glass -creates a contemporary woodland retreat embodying clarity, proportion, and timeless materiality.
